LIVELY GROUP Amplifies Offering with the Launch of DECIBEL

October 4th, 2017

Lively Group, the New York and Paris-based creative collective focused on branding, design, production, visual effects, and editorial, is excited to announce the next step in the evolution of the Lively brand with the launch of their new sound division, Decibel. Helming Decibel are two extremely talented sound mixers, Tom Goldblatt and Mat Guido, along with versatile Executive Producer Kate Albers.

Armed with this troop of dynamic talent, Decibel marks the beginning of an audio experience that caters to the evolving media landscape. The studio has hit the ground running with work for the HBO series Ballers; sound design for the acclaimed Instagram #FoodFilms directed by David Ma; mixing the latest installment of Cigna’s star-studded “TV Doctors” campaign, as well as projects for Maybelline and Bloomberg. Decibel is located at the New York office, on the newly renovated and redesigned 22nd floor, and includes two fully equipped state of the art 5.1 Surround Sound rooms.

Tom Goldblatt, formerly of Audio Engine, brings his vast experience to one of the rooms at Decibel. The native New Yorker has deep knowledge of every aspect of the sound world and has worked with some of the best in the industry. A range of clients from directors Tom Hooper and Bennet Miller, to Justin Timberlake and U2 front man Bono, to actors including Alec Baldwin and Andy Samberg have all looked to Tom for his sonic expertise. His mixing and sound design work has won many major awards and he continues to apply his talents to some of the best creative work out there.

Running Decibel’s other studio is Lively’s incredibly talented mixer Mat Guido. Mat worked closely with a renowned acoustic design firm to build the Decibel studios with the latest top of the line equipment and technology. Mat’s work as a mixer, sound designer, and composer have always set him apart. His sound design and original compositions can be heard in films screened at festivals around the world including Cannes, London, Toronto and SXSW, and his commercial mixing has been heard in broadcast spots internationally. Mat is known for having an ear to the ground for music trends in the contemporary market, and his passion, talent, and drive has created fans inside and outside Lively Group’s client base.

Rounding out the Decibel team is EP Kate Albers, formerly of Sound Lounge. Kate started in the industry on the agency side at mcgarrybowen, then moved on to work at a multimedia startup, before being pulled back into advertising and the world of audio-post. Kate has a deep understanding of the day-to-day running of a studio, having worked with clients such as Ford, Avocados from Mexico, Aquafina, BMW, Mountain Dew, and Sprint. She’s excited to bring her vast client experience and commitment to quality to help grow Decibel alongside the Lively Group brands.

Decibel is the audio counterpart to the Lively Group collection of companies, which includes Spontaneous, BlueRock and Scarlett. The launch of Decibel broadens their longstanding commitment to creating valuable content for established and emerging brands.
