WENDY MORGAN’s Downtown Dance for RAG & BONE FW14

August 18th, 2014

Wendy Morgan’s abstract take on Rag & Bone’s FW14 collection for women sees the Believe Media director draw upon her critically acclaimed music video pedigree. The sensual film slips between two worlds, with Morgan conceiving a unique stylistic narrative that explores intimacy in dance and flight.

The film features choreography and a performance by Kyle Abraham, once described as “the best and brightest creative talent to emerge in New York City in the age of Obama.” Together, Morgan and Abraham worked to reflect the influences and textures of the collection in the emotional landscape of the film.

Morgan’s piece was commissioned by esteemed creative director (and Storytellers subject) Dilly Gent (Radiohead, Tina Turner, Jack White), as one of 3 diverse films depicting the Rag & Bone collection from unique points of view.

The soundtrack for Morgan’s piece comprises “Ocean Picture” by Big Noble, the new collaboration between Daniel Kessler of the band Interpol and sound designer/musician Joseph Fraioli, and the soulful ballad “The Rain” by k-os.
